Bears QB Caleb Williams ruled out with hamstring injury vs Vikings

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings after suffering a hamstring injury in the fourth quarter. The injury occurred with approximately 7:27 remaining in the game on a first-and-goal scramble from the Vikings' 6-yard line. Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft, was helped off the field and later carted to the locker room. The team later specified the injury was to his hamstring. Williams appeared to go down without direct contact while rolling to his left, writhing on the grass and screaming in pain before being assisted by medical staff. He gave a thumbs-up to the crowd at Soldier Field as he was carted off. Backup quarterback Tyson Bagent replaced Williams for the remainder of the drive. The sequence ended when a 23-yard field goal attempt by Cairo Santos was blocked, preserving the Vikings' 6-3 lead. The block was part of a difficult stretch for Chicago following the quarterback's exit. At the time of his injury, Williams had completed 15 of 26 passes for 138 yards with one interception. He also had five carries for 42 yards in rainy conditions.
