BCCI holds review meeting on team performance, roadmap

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has convened a high-level review meeting at its Mumbai headquarters on Thursday, September 3, to assess the senior men's team's recent performance and chart a future roadmap. The meeting, which was postponed from July, will be attended by BCCI President Mithun Manhas, Secretary Devajit Saikia, head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and Centre of Excellence head VVS Laxman. Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill and T20I captain Shreyas Iyer have also been summoned to attend. The agenda is set to cover a comprehensive review of India's recent overseas campaigns, including the T20I series defeats in Ireland and England, the ODI series loss to England, and the subsequent T20I series victory in Zimbabwe and Test series win in Sri Lanka. The discussions will also focus on planning for upcoming assignments, such as the tour of New Zealand later this year and the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa. A significant portion of the meeting is expected to address persistent injury management and communication issues within the team setup.
