Bandits Kill 3, Injure 5 in Kano Community Attack

Three people were killed and five others injured when suspected bandits attacked Chiromawa community in the Garun Mallam Local Government Area of Kano State on Saturday night, August 29, 2026. The attackers also abducted the Sarkin Noma of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, though he was later rescued by police and community members. The assault began at approximately 11:30 p.m. when gunmen stormed the town and opened fire indiscriminately. According to Salisu Harris, the Information Officer for Garun Mallam council, the attackers targeted the residence of the traditional title holder. The incident caused widespread panic in the community.
