Autopsy: Heroin, cocaine caused Brandon Clarke's accidental death

The full autopsy report for former NBA player Brandon Clarke reveals that the 29-year-old had a combination of heroin, cocaine, morphine, and multiple prescription medications in his system when he died on May 11. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office released the detailed findings on Monday, August 24, providing a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding the Memphis Grizzlies forward's accidental death. According to the report, the cause of death was the effects of heroin and cocaine, with the combined effects of multiple prescription medications listed as a significant contributing condition. Toxicology results detected oxycodone, alprazolam, pregabalin, and several other substances, which the medical examiner noted were present at therapeutic levels. The manner of death was ruled an accident. Clarke was found unresponsive in his bed at a San Fernando Valley residence on May 11. His agent had called his roommate to check on him after being unable to make contact. The roommate discovered Clarke and called 911, but emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
