Audi A6 e-tron Sets Production Car Range Record

Audi said Polish rally driver Miko Marczyk drove a standard A6 Sportback e-tron 1,338 kilometers on one charge in Poland, setting a Guinness World Record for a production car. The drive lasted more than 45 hours and averaged 7.09 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers, according to the company. The record attempt began on September 11. Marczyk followed a route along the Vistula River to Hel, on the Baltic Sea, then returned along much of the same route. Audi said the car traveled on public roads in regular traffic. The company did not publish the run’s average speed, so the reported distance and duration do not establish precisely how quickly the vehicle was driven. The result is about 72 percent farther than the A6 Sportback e-tron’s stated WLTP range of 777 kilometers. WLTP is a standardized vehicle testing measure; the record run’s conditions and duration differ from a typical trip.
