At Least 20 People Ransack South LA Store During Street Takeover

At least 20 people broke into a Superior Grocers store in South Los Angeles early Sunday, ransacking shelves and stealing merchandise during an illegal street takeover that prompted a police response and left employees barricaded inside the building. The incident occurred near Manchester Avenue and San Pedro Street in the Florence neighborhood, with officers arriving at the scene around 4:30 a.m. to find the break-in in progress. One person was taken into custody, but the majority of the group fled, and authorities have not yet determined the total value of stolen goods.
