Asian Cricket Boards Raise Concerns Over Asian Games Venue Quality

Published 27 August 2026

Cricket boards from several major Asian nations have raised serious concerns about the quality of the pitch and player accommodation at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan, ahead of the 2026 Asian Games. The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 17, with the women's competition, and the men's event starting on September 24. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced it will send a delegation to inspect the venue and hotel arrangements in response to the complaints. The primary issue centers on the cricket venue, a remodeled baseball facility that was converted for cricket use in March 2026.
