Armored Mewtwo Returns to Pokemon GO for GO Fest 2026 Mega Finale

Armored Mewtwo, a rare and powerful variant of the iconic Pokémon, is set to return to Pokémon GO for the first time in six years during the game's GO Fest 2026 Mega Finale event. The announcement was made during the closing ceremonies of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. The creature will be available in five-star raids from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6, 2026. The return of Armored Mewtwo, which has not been available since February 2020, is a central feature of the two-day global Mega Finale event. Developer Scopely confirmed that the special armored form, first introduced in 2019 to promote the film "Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution," will not have a Shiny variant available during this appearance. This means players will not be able to catch a differently colored version of the Pokémon at this time. The Mega Finale event will also showcase Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raids. Mega Mewtwo X will be featured on Saturday, September 5, while Mega Mewtwo Y will take over on Sunday, September 6.
