ARK and Securitize Announce Tokenized Fund Class on Ethereum
ARK Invest and Securitize announced a tokenized share class of the ARK Venture Fund, giving eligible investors a blockchain-based way to hold interests in the fund through infrastructure built on Ethereum. Securitize will manage issuance and investor access, while ARK continues to oversee the fund’s investments. The token represents an interest in ARKVX, an actively managed interval fund, not direct ownership of companies in its portfolio. Those holdings include private and public technology businesses such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe and Databricks, though the fund’s portfolio can change. Investors therefore gain exposure through the fund rather than receiving shares in any of those companies. The companies said the tokenized class would be available to eligible investors through Securitize. The announcement describes the planned infrastructure, but does not establish that the interests have begun trading on a secondary market. A Securities and Exchange Commission order issued September 21 permits a tokenized share class subject to conditions, including potential trading on specified alternative trading systems.
