Argentina Announces Citizenship Program With $350,000 Entry

Published 2 October 2026

Argentina’s government announced a citizenship-by-investment program on October 2, offering foreign applicants a choice between a nonrefundable $350,000 payment to the Treasury and an $800,000 government bond purchase. The government said it expects applications to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, but has not released a specific start date or full bond terms. Economy Minister Luis Caputo announced the scheme at an investor event in Paris. Officials said funds raised would help strengthen the country’s fiscal and financial position. The announcement did not set an official target for the number of applicants or revenue. The program also sets additional contributions for some family members: $100,000 for a spouse or an unmarried child aged 18 to 25 who has no children, and $25,000 for each child under 18, according to the stated terms. A family of four with two young children would pay $500,000 under the contribution route, officials said. Applicants would undergo checks on identity, the origin of their funds, criminal records and security risks.
