Apple Unveils Watch Series 12, Ultra 4
Apple has unveiled its latest smartwatch offerings, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, introducing significant upgrades focused on health monitoring and artificial intelligence capabilities. Preorders for both devices began immediately, with sales scheduled to commence on September 18, 2026. At the core of the new models is an enhanced Health Sensing System, powered by the new S11 chip. This system incorporates redesigned optical and electrical heart sensors, enabling heart rate measurements every five seconds throughout the day, a substantial increase from previous models. Heart rate variability (HRV) tracking has also been made more frequent. Apple claims this redesigned system provides the most accurate heart rate sensing in any wearable, a claim supported by company-conducted studies. A new Readiness score feature analyzes recent activity, training load, vital signs, and sleep data to provide users with a daily assessment of their body's capacity for exertion or recovery. This feature aims to offer actionable insights for training and rest, similar to offerings from other wearable competitors.
