The show follows a disgraced FBI agent, played by Mackie, as he pursues an American career criminal, portrayed by Dornan, across Europe. Their conflict centers on a daring robbery targeting a bank vault hidden beneath the streets of Zurich, Switzerland. The series is structured around three distinct timelines for each episode: the 12 months spent planning the heist, the 12 hours during which it takes place, and the 12 days following its aftermath. In the teaser, Mackie's character describes a professional, high-value robbery as one requiring months of planning and hours of execution, while Dornan's character notes that a bank robber who evades capture within 12 days effectively gets away with it entirely.
