Apple TV Reschedules 'The Savant' for Spring 2027

Apple TV has rescheduled its thriller series "The Savant" for a Spring 2027 release, more than a year after the show was abruptly pulled from its schedule. The new release window is intended to make the series eligible for the 2027 Primetime Emmy Awards. The series, which stars Jessica Chastain as an undercover investigator infiltrating online hate groups, was originally set to premiere on September 26, 2025. Apple TV postponed it indefinitely just days before launch, citing the need for "careful consideration" following the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025. The show's storyline and imagery, including sniper attacks, were considered potentially sensitive in the aftermath of the killing. Apple TV's decision to delay the series drew public criticism from its star. In an Instagram post at the time, Chastain stated she was "not aligned" with the decision to pause the release. "I've never shied away from difficult subjects, and while I wish this show wasn't so relevant, unfortunately it is," she wrote. "The Savant is about the heroes who work every day to stop violence before it happens, and honoring their courage feels more urgent than ever.
