Apple TV Renews Slow Horses for Eighth Season

Published 15 September 2026

Apple TV has renewed its spy thriller series "Slow Horses" for an eighth season, the streaming service announced on September 15, 2026. The renewal comes just one day before the show's sixth season premieres on the platform. The eighth season will adapt "Clown Town," the ninth novel in author Mick Herron's Slough House book series, which was published in September 2025. This means the show is approaching the end of its available source material, as Herron has not yet released a tenth novel. The series has maintained an annual release schedule, but that pattern may need to change after season eight due to the limited number of books remaining to adapt. The sixth season of "Slow Horses" is set to premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. It will consist of six episodes, with new installments released weekly through October 21. This season adapts two of Herron's novels, "Joe Country" and "Slough House," marking the first time a single season has drawn from multiple books in the series. Director Adam Randall described the upcoming sixth season as "darker" and "heavier" than previous installments, with "a lot more death.
