Apple to Launch Beta Siri AI September 14

Apple is set to release a beta version of its AI-enhanced Siri assistant on September 14, 2026, coinciding with the public launch of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Initially available only in English, the new Siri AI will support five additional languages-French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish-starting in October. The AI-powered assistant, a significant overhaul promised by Apple, will be integrated across various operating systems, including macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, on compatible devices. Support for Siri AI requires relatively recent Apple hardware, with compatibility extending back to the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Newer devices, such as the iPhone 17 Pro models, will feature more powerful on-device AI processing capabilities for enhanced speech recognition and dictation. However, the rollout comes with notable restrictions. Siri AI will not be available in China mainland. In the European Union, access will vary by platform; the assistant will be withheld from iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch users, while Mac and Apple Vision Pro users will be able to access specific features. Apple has not provided a specific explanation for these regional limitations.
