Published 14 September 2026

Apple began rolling out its iOS 27 software update to compatible iPhones on September 14, 2026, marking the public release of the new operating system after months of developer and public beta testing. The update introduces a redesigned Siri experience, interface changes, performance improvements, and expanded parental controls. The rollout started on September 14, with the update becoming available over the air for eligible devices. Apple did not announce an exact release time, but based on past major iOS releases, the update was expected to begin rolling out at approximately 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, which corresponds to about 10:30 p.m. Indian Standard Time. Users were advised to check the Software Update section in their Settings app to download and install the update. iOS 27 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including the iPhone 11 series, iPhone SE 2nd generation, and all subsequent models up to the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. This represents the largest pool of models ever supported by a single latest iOS update, with 33 iPhone models eligible for the software.
