Apple event to debut foldable iPhone, iPhone 18
Apple is poised to begin a significant new chapter under Chief Executive Officer John Ternus, with a major product showcase scheduled for September 9, 2026. The "Surprise and Shine" event at Apple Park will mark Ternus's first public presentation since succeeding Tim Cook, who stepped down on September 1. The keynote is expected to introduce a wave of new devices, headlined by the company's first foldable iPhone and the latest iPhone 18 Pro models. According to reports, the foldable iPhone, widely rumored to be called the iPhone Ultra, will feature a book-style design with a cover display around 5.5 inches and an inner screen near 7.8 inches. The device is expected to use a side-mounted Touch ID sensor instead of Face ID due to its thin profile and may start at a price above $2,000. Alongside it, Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which are anticipated to feature the A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, and potential camera upgrades like a variable-aperture main lens. The standard iPhone 18 and a cheaper 18e model are reportedly planned for a later release in 2027.
