Anthropic signs $45 billion compute deal with Nscale

Anthropic has agreed to a $45 billion, six-year deal to rent computing power from Nscale, a British AI infrastructure company, in a move to secure massive capacity for its AI models. The agreement, reported on August 26, 2026, will see Nscale deploy Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin chips at its flagship data center campus in West Virginia, providing approximately 460 megawatts of power. The compute capacity is expected to begin powering Anthropic's services in late 2027.
