Anthropic Selects Accenture as First Embedded AI Evaluator Partner

Anthropic has selected Accenture as its first embedded evaluator partner, operationalizing a key part of CEO Dario Amodei's proposal for stronger independent oversight of advanced AI systems. The partnership, announced on September 18, 2026, involves a joint commitment of at least $1 billion each over the next five years to develop AI safety evaluation capabilities. The collaboration will be led by Faculty, an AI-specialized firm acquired by Accenture earlier this year. Faculty will work inside Anthropic with employee-like access to observe model training, track development decisions, and speak directly with employees. Their role includes evaluating and red-teaming Anthropic's models, conducting alignment assessments, and testing model safeguards. Anthropic stated it will directly fund Accenture's work in the near term, citing the importance and urgency of the effort and the lack of an established system for financing independent evaluations. The company indicated that long-term funding should come from pooled or government sources, as proposed in its Advanced AI Framework in June. The partnership is nonexclusive.
