Anthropic Nears $15B Credit Ahead of IPO
Artificial intelligence firm Anthropic is nearing the final stages of securing a $15 billion revolving credit facility as it prepares for a potentially record-breaking initial public offering. The company, known for its Claude chatbot, is working with major Wall Street financial institutions on both the credit line and its upcoming stock market debut. Morgan Stanley is leading the arrangement of the $15 billion credit facility, which significantly surpasses the approximately $10 billion initially targeted and dwarfs the $2.5 billion five-year credit line Anthropic secured last year. Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup are also playing prominent roles in the credit facility process. These same four banks are expected to serve as lead underwriters for Anthropic's initial public offering. Other financial institutions involved in the credit facility include Barclays, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, and UBS. Anthropic has already submitted a confidential registration statement to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
