Anthropic launches Claude tool for financial advisers
Anthropic has launched Claude for Financial Advisors, a specialized suite of tools designed to integrate its artificial intelligence with major financial platforms to automate administrative tasks for wealth managers. The product, announced on September 14, 2026, connects the Claude chatbot to software from firms including BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks. The tool is engineered to handle complex, regulated workflows such as preparing for client meetings, reviewing portfolios, and generating compliance documentation. It aims to reduce the time advisors spend on research and paperwork, freeing them for client-facing work. Anthropic states the tool will not provide explicit investment advice, reserving that judgment for human experts. The launch occurred days after rival OpenAI introduced a version of ChatGPT for the financial industry, targeting investment bankers and equity researchers. Anthropic's offering focuses on the wealth management and advisory sector. Charles Schwab will be the platform's debut custodian, aiming to bring the tool to over 16,000 registered investment advisers it serves.
