Anthony Edwards Ordered to Pay $14,000 Monthly Child Support

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been ordered by a court to pay $14,000 per month in child support for his son, Amir, whom he testified he has never met. The ruling, issued in August 2026, stems from a case with the child's mother, Alexandria Desroches, and represents a significant financial obligation beyond the standard calculation. The court's decision was based on Edwards' substantial income, which court documents list at approximately $4.8 million per month. This figure includes his Timberwolves salary and endorsement earnings. The monthly child support payment is far above the baseline amount of roughly $3,200. Desroches, who earns about $1,016 per month, had requested a higher amount to support their son, who was born in 2023. The judge also considered Edwards' reported spending habits, which include approximately $31,000 per month on food, $70,000 on entertainment, and $30,000 on vacations. In addition to the monthly payments, the court ordered Edwards to obtain a life insurance policy valued at $2.6 million, with Desroches named as the primary beneficiary. He was also required to pay more than $21,000 in Desroches' legal fees.
