Anchorage Digital adds custody for tokenized uranium on Etherlink

Published 17 September 2026

Anchorage Digital Bank has expanded its institutional custody services to include assets on the Etherlink network, a Tezos-based layer 2, with a notable addition being xU3O8, a token representing physical uranium. The move allows institutional clients to hold the tokenized uranium and six other Etherlink assets in segregated accounts at the federally chartered bank. The integration, announced by the company, places xU3O8 alongside wrapped Tezos (WXTZ), liquid staking token stXTZ, wrapped Ether (WETH), and stablecoins USDT, USDC, and USDSM within Anchorage's existing custody infrastructure. This means clients can manage these assets using the same policy controls and operational processes they already employ for other digital assets, without setting up a separate custody arrangement. xU3O8 is designed to provide holders with exposure to physical uranium, a commodity traditionally traded through specialist intermediaries with long settlement periods and high minimum transaction sizes. Anchorage stated that tokenization can reduce the transfer and settlement time for this exposure from weeks to minutes. The token operates through Uranium.
