Amitabh Bachchan denies retirement rumors, clarifying blog remark
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has publicly dismissed widespread speculation that he was planning to retire from his acting and hosting career. The 83-year-old star clarified that a recent blog post, which included the phrase "its late, time to retire," was misinterpreted and referred only to going to bed. The misunderstanding arose after Bachchan shared a reflective blog entry about the emotional toll of hosting the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. In that post, he wrote about contestants sharing difficult personal stories, concluding with, "I wish to retire now .. it is late .. and the night invites." This was subsequently reported by some media outlets as a potential retirement announcement. Addressing the reports directly, Bachchan used his blog to issue a firm denial. "I wrote in the blog .. its late, time to retire .. which we all know means retire to bed its late," he wrote, sharing a newspaper clipping of the erroneous report to highlight the misunderstanding. He added, "No sir, I am not retiring from work any time soon retire in English means going to sleep. And you are not invited there.
