AMC Theatres screens Dolly Parton films in tribute

AMC Theatres is honoring the late Dolly Parton by bringing two of her classic films back to the big screen at approximately 200 locations nationwide. The special screenings of "Steel Magnolias" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" began on August 28 and will run through September 2, offering fans a chance to pay tribute to the beloved country music icon and actress. Parton died on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer. Her publicist confirmed she passed away peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee. In a final act of philanthropy, Parton requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her Imagination Library.
