Amazon has begun offering the first cash discounts on Apple's newly announced 2026 Mac mini lineup, marking down several configurations just weeks before the machines are scheduled to ship on September 22. The retailer has reduced the prices of two models featuring the new M6 chip and one with the M5 Pro processor, providing early savings for customers placing preorders. The discounted models include the M6 Mac mini with 16GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD, now priced at $879.99, down from its standard $899. The M6 configuration with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD is available for $1,069.99, a reduction from $1,099. Additionally, the M5 Pro Mac mini with 24GB of memory and a 512GB SSD is listed at $1,669.99, which is $29 off its regular price. These represent the first advertised dollar-off preorder deals for the new desktop computers at the retailer. Apple's new M6 Mac mini represents a significant performance upgrade over the previous generation. According to the company, the M6 chip delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, up to 4x faster AI performance, up to 2x faster graphics, and up to 2x faster storage compared to the prior-generation M4 model used for comparison.
