Alanis Morissette sues former tour manager over alleged extortion

Published 2 September 2026

Singer Alanis Morissette has filed a federal lawsuit accusing her former tour manager, Keren Urinov, of orchestrating a "calculated blackmail campaign" to extort a 15-year employment contract and substantial compensation. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on September 1, 2026, alleges civil extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation. The legal action stems from an incident on July 12, 2025, at Farnborough Airport in the United Kingdom. According to the complaint, Urinov, who was temporarily employed as Morissette's tour manager, claimed ownership of a bag flagged by British Border Force officials.
