Airtel Money confirms London listing plan at $9 billion valuation
Airtel Money has confirmed plans to list on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market, with trading expected in October if the offering secures regulatory approval and market conditions allow. The mobile payments business is targeting a valuation of about $9 billion, but the final offer size, price and timing have not been set. The proposed flotation would be a sale of existing shares, rather than the issuance of new shares, according to company statements reported in connection with the plan. Airtel Money has said proceeds would go to selling shareholders, while Airtel Africa, which owns about 78% of the business, intends to remain a long-term investor. The company has not announced the number of shares to be sold or an indicative price range. Airtel Money is expected to provide those indicative details in early October, with final pricing anticipated later in the month. Completion and the start of trading remain conditional on regulatory approval and market conditions. The company’s earlier timetable had aimed for a listing in the first half of 2026, but it shifted the plan to the second half, citing unfavourable market conditions.
