Air India Pilot Found Dead In Delhi Hotel Room

An Air India pilot was found dead in his hotel room in Delhi on September 11, prompting an investigation by local police. The pilot, identified as Captain Sunny Asaldekar, was discovered unresponsive at The Grand hotel in the Vasant Kunj area and was later declared dead at a hospital. According to police, the incident began when the pilot's brother contacted hotel management, reporting that he could not reach Asaldekar by phone. The hotel manager went to the pilot's room and found the door locked from the inside. Staff used a master key to enter and discovered the pilot lying unconscious. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Asaldekar, a Mumbai-based captain, was in Delhi for Boeing 787 conversion training. He had checked into the hotel on September 10. Police stated that a PCR call regarding the guest's ill health was received at the Vasant Kunj North police station on the evening of September 11. A police team responded to the scene, and the Crime Team was subsequently called to examine the room and collect evidence. Air India confirmed the death of the cockpit crew member in a statement.
