Adebayo says he would appoint Wike but curb his comments
Social Democratic Party presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has said he would appoint Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike to his government if elected, but would restrict the minister's public comments, while simultaneously rating him the top-performing minister in President Bola Tinubu's administration. Adebayo made the remarks in a television interview in which he discussed governance, the performance of the Tinubu administration and recent political developments, including the Osun State election. He praised Wike's work ethic and credited him with driving infrastructure projects in the FCT, saying the pace of work compared favourably with that of previous ministers. If I were forming my own government, I can appoint Wike, but I'll put a little tape in his mouth, he said. The SDP candidate said that as an FCT resident, travel had become easier because of the ongoing projects. However, he raised questions about the cost and value of some contracts, saying there could be concerns over pricing and value for money.
