Actress Radha Files Police Complaint Over ₹46 Crore Cheque Fraud

Veteran Tamil actress Radha has filed a police complaint alleging her sister, actress Ambika, and brother, Mallikarjuna Kunjan Nair, misused her signed blank cheques in an attempt to claim approximately ₹46 crore. The complaint, submitted to the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner on September 21, 2026, has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch for investigation. In her complaint, Radha stated that she maintained a current account with IDBI Bank for her business, previously named ARS Garden Studio. She kept signed blank cheques at her Chennai residence to cover expenses like salaries and utilities while traveling. After the business was renamed RR Gardens in January 2025, she received a new chequebook and forgot about the old, unused cheques. Radha alleges that on September 17, 2026, her bank informed her that five of these old cheques had been presented for encashment in Ambika's name for a total of around ₹46 crore. She immediately instructed the bank to stop payment. Radha claims she never gave Ambika any cheques or involved her in financial transactions that would require such payments.
