Accenture Google Cloud Form AI Engineer Unit

Published 8 September 2026

Accenture and Google Cloud have launched a joint business group, the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, aimed at helping enterprise clients deploy agentic artificial intelligence. The new unit will be anchored by a workforce of up to 1,000 forward-deployed engineers who will work onsite with customers to build and scale AI applications on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise platform. The initiative seeks to address a significant challenge in the industry: enterprises continue to struggle to integrate AI tools into their operations in ways that produce measurable returns, nearly four years after the widespread introduction of generative AI technologies. Accenture CEO Julie Sweet stated that clients are seeking clear value and are currently "stuck," while Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian noted that the new group "significantly expands the expertise and resources available to help our customers deliver real business value." Google Cloud will provide training to the forward-deployed engineers, known as FDEs, enabling them to design and develop bespoke AI applications. A small number of Google Cloud's own FDEs will also participate in limited engagements with top-tier customers.
