Aberdeen Football Club has appointed Adrian Bevington as its new chief executive, effective immediately, less than 24 hours after announcing the departure of Alan Burrows. The Scottish Premiership club confirmed the swift leadership transition on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The club stated that Burrows stepped down after approximately three years in the role, citing family reasons. Chairman Dave Cormack paid tribute to the outgoing chief executive, acknowledging his contributions during his tenure. Bevington, 55, brings extensive experience from over 20 years in senior football management. He spent 17 years with the English Football Association, where he served as managing director of England national teams and group communications director. His career also includes roles at Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, and consultancy work with the Welsh FA during their Euro 2016 campaign.
