AAP Leader Gurpreet Singh Gopi Shot Dead in Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party leader Gurpreet Singh Gopi was shot dead in the main bazaar of Mamdot, in Punjab's Ferozepur district, on Saturday evening, August 29, 2026. The 45-year-old politician was killed after armed assailants in a car chased and opened fire on the vehicle he was traveling in, according to police. The attack occurred as Gopi was traveling with another man, identified as Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy, who was 22 years old. Police reports indicate the assailants, described as four armed men, followed the vehicle and opened fire. Gopi sustained multiple bullet injuries and was declared dead at a Civil Hospital.
