800 Barrels Guinness Stolen from Cheshire Depot

Over 800 barrels of Guinness, valued at approximately £115,000, were stolen from two trailers at an industrial depot in Runcorn, Cheshire, on the evening of Monday, August 31, 2026. The total estimated value of the stolen beer and trailers is around £205,000. Cheshire Police are investigating the theft, which occurred in two separate incidents at a depot on Aston Lane. The first lorry entered the site at approximately 7:45 p.m., connected to a trailer containing barrels of the stout, and departed about 10 minutes later, heading towards the Mersey Gateway. A second lorry arrived at the same location at 9:12 p.m., hitched to another trailer loaded with Guinness, and left the premises around 9:30 p.m. The stolen Guinness was enough to fill roughly 70,400 pints and was reportedly destined for local pubs. The two trailers are described as white, triaxle curtainside vehicles bearing GXO company branding. Their unique identification numbers are DL736 and DL542. Authorities believe two men were involved in the thefts. The first driver is described as a white man with a short dark beard, wearing a beanie hat. The second man is believed to have been wearing a cap.
