8 Arab Muslim Nations Condemn Gaza Displacement

Eight Arab and Muslim nations issued a joint condemnation on Sunday, September 6, 2026, of recent statements by Israeli government ministers advocating for the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan described the proposals as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to regional stability. The condemnation was directed at remarks made earlier in the week by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defense Minister Israel Katz. On Wednesday, September 2, Katz stated that Israel was prepared to facilitate the departure of Palestinians from Gaza by sea, by air, and by any means possible, while noting that Egypt was unwilling to participate. A day later, on Thursday, September 3, Ben-Gvir outlined a seven-year plan for removing Gaza's population through what he termed "voluntary emigration." He proposed encouraging approximately 250,000 Palestinians to leave in the first year, with the remainder departing over subsequent years.
