14 Hospitalized at Chainsmokers San Jose Concert

Fourteen concertgoers were hospitalized on Friday night, September 4, 2026, following an outdoor performance by the electronic dance pop duo The Chainsmokers at Discovery Meadow in San Jose, California. Emergency crews responded to multiple medical calls throughout the evening, with the San Jose Fire Department dispatching an Ambulance Task Force, two additional advanced life support fire units, and a Battalion Chief to manage the incident and provide resources. The San Jose Fire Department reported receiving calls for medical assistance starting around 8:22 p.m. during the concert, which had begun approximately three hours earlier. A total of 14 ambulances responded to the scene, transporting all 14 patients to local hospitals. According to San Jose police, some individuals were treated for suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related issues. Paramedics also provided treatment to concertgoers at the venue. Authorities have not disclosed the specific medical conditions of those hospitalized or confirmed whether the incidents were connected by a single cause. However, reports indicate that at least 10 people were taken to hospitals during the final 30 minutes of the show.
